Given the strong regional demand for quicklime, hydrated lime, and other lime products, Astro Quarries Ltd. in October 2013, commenced construction of a modern lime production plant in Ndola for servicing the various industries. With Handyman’s Lime this goal was achieved with a state-of-the-art facility.

The quarry employs innovations from around the globe to ensure high efficiency in transportation of raw materials up to the processing plant. This includes a conveyor system that has never been seen before in Zambia.

Astro Quarries and Handyman’s Lime are a joint venture whose capital investment has been in excess of USD70million. This has included the employment of over 400 workers from the district during construction and after commencement of operations
